From hoppers in the heat of August to midges in the chill of January,
Montana offers both a huge diversity of weather and flyfishing opportunities.
With the multitude of waters available here there is always good fishing
somewhere.

Montana has four distinct seasons and each provides unique opportunities
to pursue trout. Spring may be the most
overlooked season with hungry fish, few people, and some great dry
fly fishing. Summer is what most people
think of when they think flyfishing in Montana and for good reason-
just about every piece of water is fishable and has trout. Fall
might be the most beautiful season with the cottonwoods and brown
trout turning color and many sports men and women moving on to other
pursuits. Winter puts an end to most people's
fishing but there are still some great fishing possibilities to
be had when the weather cooperates.
